The Association for Retail Environments and Point of Purchase Advertising International are exploring a possible merger and are looking for a CEO to head the new organization.
ARE is a $3 million-revenue association based in Hollywood, Fla. POPAI is a $2 million-revenue organization in Chicago. The two groups announced Wednesday their boards of directors have entered into a due diligence phase and will work toward an agreement to merge the two associations.
"It is clear to us that the memberships of both organizations have much in common, and that the entire industry will benefit greatly from our combining forces," POPAI board chairman Michelle Adams said.
A search has begun for a CEO of the new combined association. Current ARE Executive Director Todd Dittman will become COO of the combined group. The new association will be headquartered in Chicago and maintain offices in both Chicago and Hollywood, Fla. http://prn.to/1FWOdI6
