Expect traffic jams in congressional offices this week, as advocates from at least a dozen associations descend on Washington, D.C.
More than 2,000 elected and appointed county officials were expected for the legislative conference sponsored by the National Association of Counties, which began Saturday. Hill visits are Wednesday.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce will continue pushing Congress to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank with the Exporters for Ex-Im Fly-In Tuesday and Wednesday.
Also this week: The National Association of Health Underwriters is urging members to "stand up and be heard" at its 25th Annual Capitol Conference. The National Potato Council will be "Standing Up for Potatoes on Capitol Hill."
More than 250 advocates are expected for the Museums Advocacy Day organized by the American Alliance of Museums. The Space Exploration Alliance will hold its annual grassroots "Legislative Blitz." The Alliance includes the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the National Society of Black Engineers.
The National Association of Broadcasters holds its State Leadership Conference.
Other groups holding fly-ins and conferences include the National Athletic Trainers' Association, the American Chiropractic Association, Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies and Physician Hospitals of America.
