Two associations representing casinos and district attorneys will work together to train law enforcement on ways to combat illegal gambling, the groups announced Friday.
The American Gaming Association and National District Attorneys Association said the partnership would include law enforcement training at the Global Gaming Expo, an AGA trade show that will be held in Las Vegas in September.
"This partnership offers the latest evidence that illegal gambling, including the massive illegal sports betting market, is a priority for law enforcement at every level across the country," AGA CEO Geoff Freeman said in a statement.
The team up is the latest development in AGA's "Play it Safe—Stop Illegal Gambling" initiative, which has included working with the FBI to receive illegal gambling tips and the release of public service announcements in conjunction with the Humane Society of America and National Sheriffs' Association.
"This training is about focusing on best practices and building relationships in an effort to protect consumers from the predatory operators of illegal gambling operations," NDAA President Mike Ramos said.
