The National Marine Manufacturers Association announced Monday it had acquired the rights to four fishing and outdoors industry consumer shows currently belonging to the American Sportfishing Association.
The shows are The Chicagoland Fishing Travel & Outdoor Expo, the Greater Philadelphia Outdoor Sportshow, the World Fishing & Outdoor Exposition and the Saltwater Fishing Expo.
With the acquisition, NMMA will bring on two full-time ASA employees to run the new shows and maintain the former ASA New Hampshire show office. Tod Alberto will remain show manager and Julia Bubar will continue to be assistant show manager.
"This partnership with ASA will bring together leaders from both recreational fishing and boating industries to create the strongest selling consumer shows for both recreational boating and fishing products," NWWA Vice President Ben Wold said.
In addition, NWWA is partnering with ASA and its Consumer Show Committee to see how NWWA can expand the fishing components in its current shows.
"Our mission has always been to grow the recreational fishing industry, and we're excited to join forces with the world's leading producer in consumer boat and sportshows to achieve our mission and strengthen the relationship between the fishing and boating communities," ASA CEO Mike Nussman said. http://bit.ly/1OzlCg9
