A new nonprofit association has formed for professionals who help companies form long-term strategies for hiring new staff and executives.
The Association of Talent Acquisition Professionals was recently approved as a 501(c)6 nonprofit organization by the IRS, according to a statement by the group. The association lists a P.O. box in Gaithersburg, Md., as its primary address.
"Over the past two years, I have spoken with hundreds of talent acquisition professionals, and have heard repeatedly that they believe that the time for this type of organization has come, and that they want to be actively involved with our work going forward," said Ben Gotkin, executive director of ATAP. "This has been highly encouraging and a great validation of our efforts to launch ATAP in the first place."
Gotkin is a recruiting consultant who previously was director of talent acquisition for Marriott International. ATAP will focus on providing education opportunities for talent acquisition professionals, developing a code of ethics, advocacy and networking.
The association's website is atapglobal.org.
