PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, will match up to $100,000 for all donations raised online for helping victims of Hurricane Harvey, the organization announced Thursday.
In a statement, PMMI said the money would go to the American Red Cross to aid in hurricane relief efforts. In addition, the association will raise funds during a charity event at its PACK EXPO and Healthcare Packaging EXPO trade shows, to be held Sept. 25-27 in Las Vegas.
"The need for hurricane relief is immense and immediate. Our hearts go out to everyone impacted, including PMMI members and customers along with their families," said Chuck Yuska, president and CEO, PMMI. "The Red Cross is playing a critical role in aiding the victims of this storm by putting relief donations to work where they are needed most."
Tickets to the "PACK Gives BACK" charity event cost $75 per person, with the tenth ticket free for people and organizations that purchase at least 10. The Doobie Brothers are scheduled to perform.
