Passage of "doc fix" bill poses coding problems for groups Associations that deal with medical codes are evaluating what's next after Congress approved a "doc fix" bill that included a one-year delay in new standards, until October 2015. The Senate passed legislation 64-35 to prevent a 24 percent cut in Medicare payments to physicians April 1. "On behalf of our more than 72,000 members who have prepared for ICD-10 in good faith, AHIMA will seek immediate clarification on a number of technical issues such as the exact length of the delay," American Health Information Management Association CEO Lynne Thomas Gordon said in a statement.
