Gun group faults Jersey City action The National Shooting Sports Foundation criticized a plan by the mayor of Jersey City, N.J., to examine the social responsibility practices of companies that bid to sell firearms to the city's 800-member police department. "It is inappropriate to politicize the selection of firearms for law enforcement," said Lawrence Keane, senior vice president and general counsel of NSSF. Mayor Steven Fulop said this week he is requiring gun manufacturers bidding for city business to answer questions about their efforts to promote gun safety.
