Detroit sees uptick in convention events Attributed to a vigorous campaign by its visitors bureau, Detroit is seeing an rise in convention bookings, with at least two associations planning events in the city, according to the Associated Press. The Automotive Services Association has booked its trade show in the city for late July while ASAE plans to hold its convention there next year. The Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau has been marketing the city as one making a comeback despite the recent declaration of bankruptcy.
