Report: Business travel improves government With some lawmakers suggesting that federal agencies cut back on travel to meetings and conferences as a way to save money, the U.S. Travel Association has come out with a new report saying that would be a bad idea. The report found that travel actually makes government more effective, while canceling participation in key events "carries significant costs and undermines important functions of government," according to U.S. Travel. Rockport Analytics conducted the study for the association.
