Restaurant industry enlists Nobelists against higher minimum wage The National Restaurant Association was behind a letter signed by 10 Nobel Prize-winning economists in January opposing an increase in the minimum wage to $10.10, Bloomberg BusinessWeek reported. An outside lobbyist for the NRA circulated the letter to economists, the magazine reported. The report was partly based on information from the liberal Economic Policy Institute, which supports increasing the minimum wage.EPI linked the letter to Washington lawyer-lobbyist Susan Swirski.
