Business groups unite to oppose disclosure bill Many of the nation's largest associations have partnered with their state counterparts to oppose a U.S. Senate bill that would expand the amount of reporting required for expenditures in federal elections. The "Follow the Money Act of 2013" would require disclosure from independent groups similar to that required of federal candidates, according to the bill's sponsors. Currently, such groups do not need to disclose their sources of funding as long as their ads are not specifically urging voters to support or oppose a candidate.
