Ethanol ruling provokes strong reaction from associations For the first time, the Environmental Protection Agency is proposing cutting back the amount of ethanol that must be blended with gasoline—a move both celebrated and blasted by a number of associations, depending on which side of the debate they were on. "Agriculture has been a bright spot in a failing U.S. economy, but current corn prices are below the cost of production," said Martin Barbre, board president of the National Corn Growers Association.
