Do you like puppies? Then the American Veterinary Medical Association has you covered.
Pictures of puppies and other cute animals cover the front page of a new AVMA website announcing the association's new brand. The new look is part what the association says is a "new chapter" in its 150-year history, one that includes a new logo and tagline.
"We believe that the new AVMA message, ‘Our passion. Our profession,' reassures our members that they are our passion and our profession," the association said in a statement to members. "It also elicits a sense of pride among our members and is grounded in the deep-rooted passion you have for animals and your professional role in preserving both human and animal health."
AVMA is one of two associations that have debuted new websites in recent weeks in efforts to update public images. In AVMA's case, the new site is part of a much larger campaign to win new members and hold existing ones.
AVMA said it spent 2014 listening to members about what they wanted to see from their association. Answers included more communication about AMVA's advocacy efforts, more diverse representation of veterinarians and a more personalized experience when interacting with the association.
"Belonging to the AVMA is still the right thing to do, but we understand that it's up to us to make sure that the return on your investment is obvious and tangible," the association told members. http://newavma.avma.org
The American Meteorological Society also debuted a retooled website. The organization hasn't changed its logo or adopted a tagline. Rather, the site was redesigned so it could better showcase the work of the society and its members.
"This new website is a critically important step for AMS as we continue making progress toward creating an accurate and complete understanding of all that we offer to our members, to the greater weather, water, and climate community and to society," AMS said in a statement. http://bit.ly/1Ip4ItO
