Chinese move to regulate NGOs worries trade groups

New law sets procedures, oversight of foreign organizations U.S. associations—especially trade groups—are alarmed by a new Chinese law placing a host of restrictions on non-governmental organizations operating or conducting meetings in China. Some professional societies are trying to remain optimistic because of certain exemptions for academic and research organizations added to the final draft of the law.
