College of Cardiology names Shalom Jacobovitz as new CEO

ACC opts for an industry veteran for its top spot; the appointment ends year-long search to replace former CEO Jack Lewin Jacobovitz The American College of Cardiology Board announced April 22 that pharmaceutical industry veteran Shalom "Shal" Jacobovitz will be the group's next CEO, effective April 29. Jacobovitz comes to the ACC from Actelion Pharmaceuticals U.S., a biopharmaceutical firm specializing in cardio-pulmonary therapies. He has been president of the Actelion since 2004.
