Consumer Electronics expands telecommuting option

Program permits four-day office workweek, allows employee flexibility, enhances environmental efforts and emphasizes members stock-in-trade. In a move to encourage work/life balance as well as lessen its environmental impact, the Consumer Electronics Association, based in Arlington, Va., extended its one-day telework alternative to all fulltime staff, CEO Gary Shapiro announced Oct. 14 at a luncheon attended by Virginia Governor Tim Kaine, his cabinet and representatives of the Northern Virginia Technology Council.
