Diversity Sparce in Association Top Ranks

By Aria Hughes All things common, most current association CEOs have already been the head of another association and often have experience as a COO, a lobbyist, or worked on Capitol Hill early in their careers. Typically, they are also the same race and gender. Women make up only 14 percent of CEOs in large associations with annual budgets over $25 million, according to data compiled by CEO Update. Racial minorities comprise only 6 percent of association CEOs in the same budget category.
