Former head of AACE dies

Longtime CEO also was survivor of "Miracle on the Hudson" crash landing Don Jones, who led the Jacksonville, Fla.-based American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists for 20 years, died June 22. He was 75. The Florida Times-Union reported that Jones died as a result of a brain tumor. The former CEO retired in May from $17-million revenue AACE, which he led since 1997. He previously was executive director and CEO of the Florida Medical Association, where he spent the first 29 years of his career. Paul Markowski succeeded Jones in May.
