Government shutdown scrambles some fly-in planning

Several associations press forward with their Washington, D.C., events despite closures caused by impasse on Capitol Hill The government may have shut down, but for many associations that had planned member events in Washington, D.C., for October, there was no turning back. One exception was the Smoke-Free Alternatives Trade Association, which rescheduled its October fly-in for Nov. 3-4 because of the shutdown.
