Many groups pursue funding from government agencies or private foundations, but reporting requirements can be daunting Of the many billions of dollars the federal government gives out in grants each year, the Tree Care Industry Association has received just a tiny fraction. But the $139,000 awarded in 2014 allowed TCIA to offer 30 free workshops on electrical hazards and aerial lift safety, training more than 800 workers nationwide.
