Groups support online registry for dietary supplements

Council for Responsible Nutrition took lead in creating new transparency tool Mister A self-regulatory initiative with an owl for a mascot is bringing together competitors and key trade groups in the supplements industry. The Online Wellness Library, known as the Supplement OWL, went live in April with about 2,500 labels searchable by brand and ingredient. Eventually, tens of thousands of products could be uploaded into the database to give regulators and retailers a more complete picture of what's in the marketplace.
