Heidrick & Struggles cuts search staff, may close several offices

In response to the downturn in the economy and a slowdown in the executive recruiting industry, search firm Heidrick & Struggles has reduced its global workforce by 12 percent, including several layoffs to its association search practice, based in the D.C. suburb of Tysons Corner, Va. The Chicago-based firm said the staff reductions and possible office closures are part of a global restructuring plan and are expected to save the company $31 million over the course of the next year.
