Hope When Patrick Hope moved to the nation's capital from Texas roughly two decades ago to go to grad school, he knew he wanted to enter politics. That is exactly what he did, although probably not the way he expected. "I came to Washington, D.C.— I think like a lot of people—to work on Capitol Hill, go to law school and get that experience," he said.
