Designated Mies van der Rohe landmark once owned by IBM; CEO Madara cites upgrade to groups work environment AMA Plaza The American Medical Association will move its headquarters into a historic Chicago building that was once the home of IBM, the organization announced Dec. 9. AMA will move from its current location at 515 North State St. to 330 North Wabash Ave. in Sept. 2013. The $208 million-revenue association will occupy between 275,000 and 300,000 square feet in the 52-story building, which will be renamed AMA Plaza.
