Fish and Wildlife director to lead zoo group

Ashe The $10M-revenue Association of Zoos and Aquariums has appointed U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Director Daniel Ashe as its next CEO, beginning in January. He will replace Jim Maddy, who retired earlier this year after leading the Silver Spring, Md.-based organization since 2006. The U.S. Senate confirmed Ashe as FWS director in 2011. He previously was the agency's deputy director for policy and, earlier, worked as science adviser to the director.
