Former association worker pleads guilty to embezzlement

Employee stole nearly $570K from the American Diabetes Association, perpetrating an ‘extremely callous crime,’ U.S. attorney says Adrienne Carrington, a former employee with the American Diabetes Association, has pleaded guilty to embezzling $569,827 from the group in the course of her 10-year employment, according to the U.S. attorney’s office and the ADA. Carrington, a Fredericksburg, Va., resident who worked in the ADA’s financial services division until her termination in 2010, stole the money via 133 fraudulent wire transactions.
