After almost 30 years at the helm, Damgard decides to step down as the industry enters a new financial regulatory environment When the Futures Industry Associations board of directors meets next month, members will likely discuss a question that the group has not seriously considered for almost three decades: Who will be our next CEO? FIA President John Damgard, who has led the group since 1982, plans to step down in the near future. No hard timetable for the transition has been set, FIA spokesman Will Acworth said last week.
