Grocery trade CEO tapped to lead chemistry group

The American Chemistry Council has named former Rep. Cal Dooley (D-Calif.) as the next CEO of the $122 million trade association. Dooley, who is the current CEO of the Grocery Manufacturers Association, is expected to begin the job Sept. 8. Dooley led the Food Product Association from 2005-2006, a year before its merger with GMA. He retired from Congress in 2004, after 14 years representing the 17th and 20th districts of California.
