Kempthorne to be new Council of Life Insurers CEO

The former Senator, Idaho governor and cabinet secretary replaces another former governor, Frank Keating. Replacing one political heavyweight with another, the American Council of Life Insurers has named Dirk Kempthorne, a former governor, U.S. senator and cabinet secretary, as its new CEO, effective Nov. 3, the group announced Sept. 8.
