National Retail Federation lobbyist dies

Knott Kelly Knott, senior director of federal government relations at the National Retail Federation, died Dec. 3 from breast cancer. She was 45. Knott joined the $38 million-revenue NRF in 2011. She previously was director of government relations for the Associated General Contractors of America, where she worked for more than 10 years. She began her career in Washington, D.C., working in the office of former Rep. Mel Hancock (R-Mo.). She would move on to hold government relations roles at Jefferson Government Relations and J.C.
