Group successfully pressures feds to reverse position on Medicare payments The Obama administration will not move forward with a proposed reduction in Medicare Advantage rates after a campaign by America's Health Insurance Plans resulted in 160 members of Congress coming out in opposition to the cuts. According to the Associated Press, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced Tuesday that rates would instead increase by 3.3 percent in 2013, a reversal from an earlier position.

Court questions associations about swipe fee websites A federal judge will hear oral arguments about whether several business groups are misleading retailers with websites telling them to oppose a proposed settlement in a lawsuit over swipe fees, Dow Jones Business News reported.
