A Washington, D.C.-based association recently won what it said was a critical court case in its more than two-decades long fight against software piracy, even as the subject made headlines. The D.C. Court of Appeals ruled Jan. 12 that an individual could remain anonymous after the person reported to the Software & Information Industry Association that Solers, a Virginia-based technology company, was allegedly using unlicensed software.
