Read MorePatent troll bill divides associations Most associations wants to see an end to patent trolling, but a bill currently before Congress is getting mixed reviews from business groups despite an attempt to address the problem. "Patent troll" is the term for individuals or businesses that acquire patents for the sole purpose of suing other businesses for alleged patent violations. In attempt to curtail the practice, House lawmakers are considering Innovation Act, which would shift much of the burden for enforcing patent claims on patent owners.
