John Sturm, who headed the group since 1995, plans to retire later this year; new CEO expected to be named shortly John Sturm, president and CEO of the Newspaper Association of America since 1995, will step down from his post later this year, and the search for his successor is already underway, the group confirmed June 6. A representative of Blinkhorn Executive Recruiting, which is assisting in the search, said Sturms successor should be named soon. Blinkhorn is a search firm whose media client base includes The New York Times Company, Time Warner Cable and National Geographic.
