Bill Giroux has helped plan meetings for associations since the young age of 15. And he turned that high school internship at the Reston, Va.-based National Association of Secondary School Principals into a seven-year job and the launching pad for his career. I saw it as a good opportunity to get some good working experience, and I kept calling until they had to say OK, he joked. Helping plan the professional societys convention, attended by 2,800 people, was also quite a thrill for the young Giroux.
