Serota Scott Serota, the longterm chief of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, earned $4,182,231 in salary and $1,266,611 in deferred compensation, vaulting him into third place for highest paid chief executive in 2011 (so far), behind CEOs at American Gaming Association and Edison Electric Institute. This is Serota's highest one-year compensation to date, driven by $2.5 million in incentive pay, which is more than $1 million higher than his typical bonus.
