Walter Lukken picked as new CEO of futures association

Former Commodity Futures Trading Commission commissioner replaces John Damgard, who led FIA since 1982 Walter Lukken, a legislative and regulatory veteran of the finance world, will be the new president and CEO of the Futures Industry Association, the group announced Jan. 10. Lukken succeeds John Damgard, who led FIA since 1982. Damgard announced last March that he would soon retire from his leadership role, after nearly 30 years at the helm. Lukken will assume his new position sometime before March 12, when the board of directors holds its next annual meeting. Damgard will remain with FIA as a senior advisor.
