Industry groups win as Obama appointments invalidated

U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Coalition for Democratic Workplace battled National Labor Relations Board rulings Business groups at war with the National Labor Relations Board scored a major victory Jan. 25 when a federal appeals court invalidated President Barack Obama's recess appointments to the board. A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit said Obama violated the Constitution on Jan. 4, 2012, when he appointed three new NLRB members.
