Jacobovitz links lessons to swimming

CEO of American College of Cardiology enjoys swimming with the seals Shal Jacobovitz became a fan of open-water swimming about 10 years ago, when he jumped into chilly San Francisco Bay and stroked 1.5 miles to shore. Since then, the CEO of the American College of Cardiology has swum in other memorable waters—off the beaches of Normandy in France, the Red Sea, and even the Potomac River—on his own or in events. This summer he plans to swim in the Mediterranean Sea on a trip to southern France. "It's the challenge of it," Jacobovitz said.
