Location important, but not always decisive, job hunt factor

Search firms say associations generally wary of recruiting top-level staff from across the country because of moving expenses. Geography is not an insurmountable obstacle for anyone looking to take a management-level position at an association, but proximity to an organization certainly helps, according to executive recruiters.
