CEO admits annual pie reception hasn't always gone off without a hitch Mullings The annual NATSO Congressional Pie Reception usually goes as smoothly as a wedge of French silk chocolate pie, one of 27 varieties served at the May 7 event. That wasn't the case in the 1998 inaugural year. Then, CEO Lisa Mullings was on the government affairs team at the trade group for travel plazas and truck stops. "I was in charge of pie coordination and logistics, which apparently I'm not very good at," she said.
