Red Cross prevails in logo dispute A federal judge ruled in favor of the American Red Cross in a trademark infringement dispute, allowing the group to continue to use its iconic cross emblem on retail products like first aid kits, toothache medication and shoes. Judge Jed Rakoff ’s May 15 decision resolved a significant part of a lawsuit that pitted drugmaker Johnson & Johnson against the charity and four of the charity’s licensees.
