Museum exec highest paid in survey

Philippe de Montebello, director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, raked in $4.5 million in pay and benefits last year, becoming one of the highest paid nonprofit leaders in the country, according to the Chronicle of Philanthropys annual survey of nonprofit leaders. Its the first time an executive from the arts world has ranked in the number one spot, usually reserved for the presidents of major research universities and healthcare groups.
