Chrys Kefalas throws hat into the ring for Maryland's open U.S. Senate seat While many association executives jumped into the nonprofit sector after a life in public office, Chrys Kefalas is hoping to do just the opposite. Kefalas, 36, is running for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Democrat Barbara Mikulski, who has announced she won't seek re-election in 2016.
