New trade group forms for alternative investment professionals

Despite the recent volatility of the U.S stock market, for many private companies, it’s still the place they want to be. But there is more than one road for a company to go public. Not all need to launch an initial public offering. Among alternate routes are so-called reverse mergers, allowing venture companies to offer stock more quickly and with less risk. There is controversy associated with the practice, though, and a new association has formed to establish standards.
