Ramsey to step down as CEO of TechNet

Entrepreneur and nonprofit veteran led group for three years; Alix Burns will be acting CEO echNet CEO Rey Ramsey is leaving the association to join an "exciting private sector endeavor," according to an announcement by the group. He will transition out of the job in the next several weeks. Alix Burns, president of Bay Bridge Strategies and former vice president at TechNet, will be acting CEO while a search is conducted for a new leader.

Associations make top trade show list The Trade Show News Network recently released its annual roundup of the top trade shows, and several association events made the list. The largest show in 2012 in terms of net square footage was International CES, organized by the Consumer Electronics Association. Held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, last year's show encompassed more than 1.8 million square feet and brought in 3,239 exhibitors and 104,316 attendees.

Airlines association applauds Senate passage of bill stopping furloughs Airlines for America is commending Thursday's Senate passage of a bill that could prevent thousands of air traffic controllers from being furloughed. The legislation would give the Federal Aviation Administration more flexibility to determining what cuts to make under budget sequestration. It now moves onto the U.S. House of Representatives for approval.
