The Consumer Electronics Association is betting that a happier staff has shorter commutes and lives closer to work. And the association is giving away $25,000 to prove it. CEA is offering all of its full-time employees the funds in a three-year forgivable loan to use as a down payment on a home near the trade groups Arlington, Va. headquarters. Out of the groups 150 staff members, three have already applied for the funds.

The National Association of Broadcasters gave their retiring CEO, Eddie Fritts, a hefty parting gift$7.4 million. Fritts final payday $7,444,746 to be exactwas awarded after 24 years as the chief lobbyist and CEO at NAB, according to the trade groups tax records. And NABs payout makes Fritts the highest paid association leader of 2006, the most recent available records for tax-exempt groups after filing delays.
