Orthopaedic surgeons' CEO to step down

Hackett Karen Hackett will retire as CEO of the $74M-revenue American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, effective April 14, 2017. Hackett has led the Chicago-area AAOS for 14 years. She previously was EVP and COO of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Before that, she was VP for the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council, senior manager for professional services firm Ernst & Young and director of technical services for the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
