Pay rises double digits for more than one in four CEOs

Though the median association CEO pay increase hovered around 4 percent for 2012, more than one in four chief executives saw their pay rise in the same time frame by double digits. Close examination of the latest available tax records shows that one of the largest increases for a sitting association CEO went to Jeffrey DeBoer, head of the $5.9 million-revenue Real Estate Roundtable. CEO Update's database, Association Intelligence, shows that DeBoer's base pay has been between $500,000 and $600,000 since 2006. In 2012 his base pay rose by 72 percent to $1,600,324.
